Taken around 1927, this is a picture of my Grandfather and 4 of his 5 kids at his honey stand. l-r June, Ruth, Grandpa, "Toots" (Lillian), My Dad (Ken, check out the ears on that kid!). Myrt (the eldest) is not pictured. If you are familiar with Chicago's South Side, their house stood at 93rd St and Western Ave just north of what is now Evergreen Plaza. The picture is facing North on Western. Look how rural it was! This was really the far edge of the City back then. Also, look real close at the building off to the left in the background - Rainbow Cone!! My Dad and all my Aunts worked there at one time or another when they were young. Grandpa was a Mail Carrier and he used to deliver mail around the Southwest Side of Chicago on horseback.
