True Confessions

I have a confession to make.  I know this may jeopardize my Knitters Union Card, but I feel the need to come clean.  I don't like to knit socks. (universal gasp!) Yes, it's true.  I've tried, honest I have! Maybe it's the thin yarn or the little needles or maybe it's because I can knit and knit and knit for hours and still not knit enough to cover my ginormous feet.  And I know I'm a slow knitter.  I can't just whip out a pair of socks in a weekend like some Speed Queens I know; not mentioning any names.*  Below is my most recent attempt at a sock.  I started this about 4-6 months ago and I'm about 4 full rows into the foot.  Not very impressive.

Sock

Maybe I should start a Ravelry group for Non-Sock Knitters...

There's no rule that says you need to LIKE knitting socks. But I ... uhh... I uh... well... maybe you haven't given it a fair chance? ha

Okay. Knit scarfs if you want. But they're just long socks in disguise! :D

I'm not a big fan of knitting the socks either. Although I do have one on the sticks and another pair that I plan to make later this year. What I'm going to do with the other 5 skeins of socks yarn...I don't know!

Ha! Not mentioning any names either but, yeah, they seem to crank them out lickety-split, don't they?

too funny! who me? i'm just trying to keep up with ms. monica. you don't have to like knitting socks. that's o-kay!! ;)

I will join your group. I knit one pair about 5 years ago, with a knitting teacher friend standing over me. And I tried to knit another pair, ripped it out, and never looked back. I'll knit anything but a sock.

I used to think knitting socks was dumb but then I knit a pair and just couldn't stop. Then I saw all this pretty sock yarn and had to get it all. Now even if I don't like knitting socks I can't admit to it because I have a lot of sock yarn to knit up.

I don't like knitting socks that much, either. I think mostly it's that there are two of them and I get bored and they seem to take forever.
